Richmond Kickers versus Real Salt Lake Reserves: USL PRO streaming, prediction, lineups, and gamethread

D.C. United's soccer weekend isn't over, with the affiliate Richmond Kickers taking on RSL's reserves.

After a road trip that netted a game called due to lightning and a 1-1 draw against the Wilmington Hammerheads, the Richmond Kickers return to their home stadium to welcome the reserves of Real Salt Lake. The Kickers are currently tied for second place with LA Galaxy II, and both teams are 11 points behind Orlando City. Playing MLS reserve teams is always a crap shoot, with the reserves not having much for which to play and usually on short rest due to MLS games, but we will see how Real Salt Lake treats this game.

Kickoff time: 5:00 PM EDT

Venue: City Stadium, Richmond, Va.

Streaming: As always this season, USL PRO streaming can be found on YouTube.

D.C. United players in attendence: From Facebook, you can see that Conor Shanosky, Christiano Francois, and Joe Willis will all be there. I would be surprised if Michael Seaton didn't show up, since he was not on the bench for D.C. United game last night, but he was not in town as of yesterday and did not participate in training.

Projected starting XI: I think that Joe Willis will start in goal, with Luke Vercollone, Conor Shanosky, William Yomby, and Sascha Goerres in front of him. Henry Kalungi and Samuel Asante will hold down defensive midfield, and I think that Nate Robinson will get his first start in attacking midfield this year, alongside George Davis IV and Jason Yeisley. Matthew Delicate will start up top if Michael Seaton is not in town.

Prediction: As I said, MLS reserve games are a crapshoot; however, I think Richmond uses that to their advantage and wins 2-0.

What are you drinking? I had some lovely Blue Bee cider this afternoon; how about you?

As always, this is your place for pre-game in-game and post-game commentary.
