Richmond Kickers Weekend Review and GameThread

After a draw and a victory over the weekend, the Richmond Kickers go across the border to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps Reserves.

USA TODAY Sports

The Still Undefeated Richmond Kickers are two thirds of the way through their three games in six days West Coast road trip and have now stretched their unbeaten streak to 21 games. In both matches, the Kickers fell behind early but in both matches they were able to storm back and get a result. They remain one point behind Orlando City in the race for the Commissioner's Cup, with one game in hand on the Lions.

The Kickers started off their weekend with a 2-2 tie with the Phoenix FC Wolves. Tommy Ramos of the Wolves scored two goals in the first half, which also saw the Kickers' second string keeper, Ryan Jones, be sent to the hospital with a concussion. However, the Kickers clawed back one goal in the 67th minutes from defender William Yomby. After two goals were called back for offside late in the game, Shane Johnson finally scored the equalizer in the 92nd minute.

Two days later, the Kickers traveled to Los Angeles to take on the LA Blues. After again going down early, this time in the fifth minute, the Kickers stormed back with goals by Brian Ownby and by David Bulow. A result from the game tonight against the Vancouver Whitecaps Reserves would, at the very least, tie them for the lead in the league and could quite possibly vault the Kickers into sole possession of first place.

Time: 7:00 pm

Venue: UBC Thunderbird Stadium

Streaming: None available for this game, but you can follow along on twitter.

Projected lineup: Andrew Dykstra will be in goal, with Alex Lee, William Yomby, Conor Shanosky, and Sascha Goerres in front of him. Prediction: How can I go against the Kickers? 2-1 victory over the Whitecaps Reserves.
