Via the MLS Facebook page, former United States great Landon Donovan named D.C. United center back Jalen Robinson to his roster for the MLS Homegrown Game. Mexico's under-20 national team will take on Donovan's selected MLS academy products at the home of the San Jose Earthquakes (Avaya Stadium) in San Jose on Wednesday, July 27.
The 22-year old played in last year's homegrown contest against the U-20s from Club America, though with his impressive performance in a recent win over the New England Revolution combined with his increased frequency appears to have raised his visibility to a degree. He joins a roster that will include Aaron Kovar and Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders), Jesse Gonzalez, Coy Craft and Aaron Guillen (FC Dallas), Jack McBean and Raul Mendiola (LA Galaxy), Joey Calistri (Chicago Fire), Tyler Turner and Harrison Heath (Orlando City), all of whom Earthquakes player Tommy Thompson will welcome to San Jose later this month.
So if you're around and want to watch the future stars play, I encourage you to check it out. Congrats Jalen!
