The Montreal Impact are currently on track to pull a 2013 D.C. United: after a stellar season last year, they made few changes in the offseason and have immediately stumbled out of the gate in the next season. If they continue at this pace, the won't reach the depths of failure that United did last year, but they will still be in last place in the East. And, like D.C. United, the Impact will play for a spot in the Concacaf Champions league, in the final for the Voyageurs Cup next month. Let's hope that today isn't payback for United's win over them last August.
Time: 7:00 PM EDT
Venue: Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, Washington, D.C.
TV/Streaming: Comcast SportsNet is your source for television viewership, with Santino Quaranta and Dave Johnson on the call (from inside the stadium, and not Bethesda!). If you're outside the CSN-W viewing area, which extends down to Richmond, to Deleware, and to Baltimore. If you are outside of DCU's rather large blackout radius, you can always watch on the soon-to-be-gone MLS Live or Direct Kick.
Projected D.C. United starting XI: Other than Chris Pontius, Sean Franklin, listed as questionable, is the only D.C. United player on the injury report. So, I will go with Bill Hamid in goal, with Chris Korb, Bobby Boswell, Jeff Parke, and Christian in front of him. A midfield of Nick DeLeon, Perry Kitchen, Davy Arnaud, and Chris Rolfe will fill in behind the strike partnership of Eddie Johnson and Fabian Espindola. United needs these three points, and so should come out firing.
Projected Montreal Impact starting XI: From our friends at Mount Royal Soccer, they project Perkins ; Brovsky, Camara, Ouimette,Tissot; Bernier, Bernardello, Felipe, Mapp, Nyassi; McInerney.
Prediction: United can't lose this game, right? Give me 2-1 in a game that's closer than it should be. You should have already given us your predictions in the predictions thread; if you haven't, do so now.
What are you drinking? Not sure yet! Something nice a summery, probably, like a saison or a pilsner. I'll let you know in the comments.
As always, this is your place for all of your pre-game, in-game, and post-game talk.
