Let's play a game. You name one player - any player (well, except Dan Kennedy) who played for Chivas USA the last time they played D.C. United and who will play for them again Sunday night when the Black-and-Red visit the Home Depot StubHub Center. Personally, I'm not sure there's going to be one.
Anyway, if you feel like feeling a bit of recent nostalgia, be sure to watch the video above, which documents United's 1-0 win last September over the Goats at RFK Stadium. It went about like every other game in the stretch run of last year's regular season: No DeRo; Bill Hamid made some big saves to keep the clean sheet; United struggled to get forward but managed a goal when Lionard Pajoy created space for himself on the right and sent in a low cross that was met by the head of a diving Branko Boskovic, in as a second-half substitute to score (I believe) his first ever MLS league goal.
Chivas won't be the only team with a lot of changes from a year ago, as DCU starters Brandon McDonald, Andy Najar and Maicon Santos all ply their trade elsewhere nowadays, and other starters Dejan Jakovic, Chris Pontius and Marcelo Saragosa and Lionard Pajoy are unlikely to feature for other reasons. One thing's the same, though - with his call up to Canada's friendly in Europe this weekend, Dwayne De Rosario will once again miss out on playing the Goats.
