New York Red Bulls vs. D.C. United: TV, time, lineups, prediction and GameThread

There's no snow in the forecast, so we should be good to play this one as scheduled. The Black-and-Red travel to the swamps of North Jersey to take on the Metros today in what can only be described as a battle between, well a team that has won something, ever, and one that hasn't. (And you thought I'd say good and evil.)

Paul Frederiksen-US PRESSWIRE

Happy Rivalry Day, boys & girls. As D.C. United fans, we get to celebrate the occasion with a trip to Our House (in the Middle of Jersey) and a nationally broadcast, network TV event featuring our boys in black taking on the hated MetroScum of North Jersey. Make sure you're up to date and ready for the 1 p.m. kickoff with our StoryStream with all of Black & Red United's coverage this week. And then turn your TV to Channel 4 and get ready to root the Black-and-Red to another victory in the shadow of the shadow of Manhattan.

Time: Pregame show starting at 12:30, and kick off will be between 12:50 and 1 pm.

Venue: Red Bull Arena, Harrison, NJ

TV: NBC. That's WRC-4 in the DC Metro area. This is the first MLS game on broadcast television this season.

Projected DC Lineup: Bill Hamid in goal, duh. Backline of James Riley, Dejan Jakovic, Brandon McDonald and Chris Korb. Perry Kitchen and Marcelo Saragosa (for the injured John Thorrington) in defensive midfield. Chris Pontius and Nick DeLeon on the wings. Lionard Pajoy up top and Dwayne De Rosario returning from suspension to make his season debut in the hole.

Prediction: I'll take 3-1 United. The New York back line has had trouble keeping decent attackers out of their net, and DeRo, Pontius & Co. are way better than decent.

What Are You Drinking?: I'll be watching the game at the Queen Vic on H Street in the District (come say hello if you're around) which probably means I'll be ordering Boddington's, because why not.

We'll have another thread later today for all the other Rivalry Day action on NBC Sports Network, but this is the really important thread of the day. After all, this is your place for pre-game, in-game and post-game conversation.
