Fantasy Focus: Be Our Guests

Gaston Gimenez! And also Maxime Crepeau I guess

MLS: New England Revolution at Chicago Fire Mike Dinovo-USA TODAY Sports

The leader this round is... me!... with 104 points and no DNPs.

BL4CKnRED is still the overall leader, nudging their lead up to 19 points.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers

Maxime Crepeau (VAN, $6.9) saved a penalty and kept a clean sheet, scoring 16 points and leading all goalkeepers while sharing the overall points lead for the round. Tyler Miller (MIN, $8.8) was behind him with a clean sheet and 11 points, just ahead of Joe Willis (NSH, $9.4), whose clean sheet helped him to 10 points. D.C.’s Bill Hamid ($6.8) scored 2 points.

Defenders

United’s Steven Birnbaum ($4.7) paired a goal with an assist for 13 points, leading the defenders, fittingly ahead of Kyle Duncan (NYR, $7.4), who had a clean sheet, an assist, and 12 points. Nick Lima (ATX, $5.5) had clean sheet and assist of his own to round out the top three with 11 points. The remaining DCU defenders were Donovan Pines ($5.1) with 4 points, and Andy Najar ($8.1) with 2.

Midfielders

Gaston Gimenez (CHI, $7.6) paired a goal and an assist on the way to 16 points, leading the midfielders and sharing the overall scoring lead. Hot on his tails was United’s Julian Gressel ($10.2), whose three assists helped him to 15 points. Hany Mukhtar (NSH, $13.0) completed the top three with 14 points on two goals. The other United midfielders were Paul Arriola ($7.6) with 11 points, Edison Flores ($7.0) with 8, the pair of Kevin Paredes ($5.3) and Junior Moreno ($6.0) with 3, Russell Canouse ($5.2) with 2, and Felipe Martins ($4.2) with 1.

Forwards

Gyasi Zardes (CLB, $7.1) led the forwards with 12 points on the strength of two goals. Behind him were Daryl Dike (ORL, $7.9) with a goal and 10 points, and Valentin Castellanos (NY, $11.4), with a goal and 9 points. The DCU forwards were led by Nigel Robertha ($6.1) with 6 points, both Yordy Reyna ($6.0) and Ola Kamara ($10.5) with 3, and Griffin Yow ($4.0) with 1.

Looking Ahead

It’s easier to list the teams that play once this round than those that play twice, so just Nashville and New England play once, while everyone else plays twice. I’m leaning towards William Yarbrough (COL, $8.7) in goal with games vs. Austin and @ Seattle, and Walker Zimmerman (NSH, $9.3) in defense vs. Orlando and @ NY. Ezequiel Barco (ATL, $10.2) is your midfield man vs. Miami and @ Montreal, and Valentin Castellanos should stay in at forward @ Chicago and vs. Nashville.
