Happy September, everyone. Somehow, we’re already in the 9th month of the year, which is just incredible. As this posts, I’m taking off for El Salvador for the first of 3 USMNT World Cup qualifiers. August ended with some fireworks though, so let’s get into it.

Real Madrid upped their bid at the last minute for Kylian Mbappé to €200m, but PSG wanted none of it. Mbappé has said he will leave Paris at the end of the season, presumably to sign with Real. He’ll now do that on a free transfer.

Another late bombshell as the Icelandic soccer federation’s board resigned after multiple accounts of sexual assault that were covered up by the federation. One prominent player has been removed from the team after being named as the culprit in a report, and more accounts seem to be coming. This really is a bad situation.
