Good morning! The weather is lovely today, so if you have the opportunity, go talk a walk around the block or around your neighborhood and enjoy it! I’m sipping my green tea with the window open in my home office, getting some work down and watching the neighbor did a big trench in his yard for as-of-yet unknown reasons.
Anyways, to the links!
D.C. United lets 10-man CF Montreal off the hook in 0-0 draw
A game that D.C. United dominated and should have won, and yet they didn’t. 27 shots, won the expected goals average by a lot, played solid defense, and yet still nothing. Still, good performances from Brendan Hines-Ike and Kevin Paredes shone in an otherwise forgettable game.
Japan’s LGBT community cheers soccer player’s coming out as trans man
Kumi Yokoyama came out as trans recently and has gotten support from all over their country, especially from the activist community who hope that this helps make progress in conservative Japan. I’m so happy that they can live as their true self.
Via reddit, the Independence Day training top has been spotted in the Team Store. To me, it looks like if someone painted the New England Revolution’s Crayon Flag onto a jersey, so I’m not a huge fan.
The Capital Cup

D.C. United will not be taking much of a break during the Gold Cup, hosting Puebla and Alianza in a tournament designed to get some fans in the stadium during the break. It might have a better chance than normal, since people are starved for any kind of live sports after 16 months, but I’m still not a big fan of summer friendlies.
Forward Madison Alternate Reversible Kit 2021
The mad geniuses at Forward Madison have come out with another stellar jersey and whomever designs their jerseys needs to be poached and bring this kind of thinking to MLS and the US National Teams.
That’s all I have today, what’s up?
