Hi there. I had a good Father’s Day, got noise cancelling headphones, which wasn’t a message whatsoever!
Black MLS players form coalition to combat racism in soccer (SSFC): Announced on Juneteenth and including current and former D.C. United players Quincy Amarikwa, Earl Edwards Jr. and Bill Hamid, this looks promising.
Ashley Hatch aiming for big performance in Challenge Cup (Equalizer, $): The Washington Spirit hope to do big things in Utah, assuming the toonahment goes off OK.
Kaiya McCullough on the power of kneeling (us): Kaiya looks like she’s make an impact on and off the field.
Report: D.C. United interested in Cruz Azul striker Santiago Gimenez (us): Huh.
Meanwhile, Loudoun United appears on course (at the moment) to return:

While celebrating Juneteenth in their own way:

Otro club se suma al interés por Leonardo Jara (La Numero 12): The former D.C. United defender may be headed to Estudiantes, where he could rejoin Lucas Rodriguez for the third time.
Speaking of defenders in Argentina:
Mientras AFA le negó la libertad a Gastón Silva, el uruguayo demandó a #Independiente en FIFA por u$s 2.100.000: 700.000 por deuda y 1.400.000 por lo que le restaba de contrato. Cuando tenga club, pedirá la habilitación provisoria y seguro la FIFA se la dé. pic.twitter.com/s6ozDYMYQj

Gaston Silva is a left footed center/left back from Uruguay whom D.C. had an interest in at one point this winter, and he has not been paid by his current club in (Independiente) for a few pre-lockdown months, and would like to be paid the wages to date, along with his remaining wages, in order to be let out of his contract. We’ll see!
Also, good on former D.C. United player Ian Harkes:

Shout out to Devon McTavish, who celebrated the 12th anniversary of his MLS debut with some news:
And here’s a montage of movie Dads to close things out:
