There were a couple transfers yesterday in MLS, including one that had heads turn. Here’s the news:

D.C. United signs Mohammed Abu on loan from Valerenga - Black & Red United

Mohammed Abu is now on D.C. United, with the team acquiring him on loan from Valerenga. He last played in MLS in 2017 for the Columbus Crew.

With his signing and Federico Higuain yesterday, along with Erik Sorga last week, we have 3 new jersey numbers:

Wanyama to Montreal Impact agreed - Tottenham Hotspur

Victor Wanyama is headed to the Montreal Impact in a shock transfer. Thierry Henry isn’t playing around.

St. Louis MLS name, logo likely to “come in the next couple weeks,” according to owner Carolyn Kindle Betz - MLS

St. Louis’ MLS franchise will have a new name and crest in the next couple weeks. We assume that will come with the colors that the team expects to use when they debut in 2022.

Federico Higuain on DC United move, Columbus Crew exit: “I want to play football” - MLS

More on the Higuain move to the Black-and-Red, with him citing his interest to “play football” as the catalyst for the move.
