There were a couple transfers yesterday in MLS, including one that had heads turn. Here’s the news:
Mohammed Abu is now on D.C. United, with the team acquiring him on loan from Valerenga. He last played in MLS in 2017 for the Columbus Crew.
With his signing and Federico Higuain yesterday, along with Erik Sorga last week, we have 3 new jersey numbers:
Victor Wanyama is headed to the Montreal Impact in a shock transfer. Thierry Henry isn’t playing around.
St. Louis’ MLS franchise will have a new name and crest in the next couple weeks. We assume that will come with the colors that the team expects to use when they debut in 2022.
More on the Higuain move to the Black-and-Red, with him citing his interest to “play football” as the catalyst for the move.

The coronavirus has really pummeled Italy the past week or so, and after taking precautions to exclude fans from Milan for the Coppa Italia semifinal between AC Milan and Juventus in Turin, the match has been postponed.
UEFA will be back in Nations League this fall, and one group in League A will consist of Portugal, France, and Croatia. The other groups in League A seem to be more balanced.
The FA confirmed Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla used the N-word...and it still only suspended him for 8 games. Man, I’m glad he’s no longer on Real Madrid anymore...unfortunately, it means we have to reset the counter again.
