Well the weird crazy 2020 season is over, along with the half day trade window, so bring on all those funky MLS offseason things, like today’s expansion draft, which should probably be anticlimactic for D.C. United.
D.C. United trades Ulises Segura to Austin FC (us): So Segura going means D.C. has 18 players (13 senior roster), and homegrown players are automatically protected (D.C. has 5). So there’s a chance the unprotected player is a surprise, but I’d doubt it. WaPo with more.
Recaps of the Columbus Crew’s 3-0 win over the Seattle Sounders by Massive Report (with more from them here and here), MLS (with more from them here and here) and WaPo. Sounder at Heart has the other end, with more from them here and here.
Four ways the Washington Spirit could get the playmaker they want (us): A nice look by Andre here.
Spirit Re-Sign Forward Averie Collins (Spirit): Also, they bring back yet another player months before the season.
Yanks for the memories! (Scotland Herald): Ian Harkes discusses why he signed for Dundee United, who sit in 6th in the Scotland Premier League after this weekend.
David Fincher’s Impossible Eye (NY Times): A look at the popular director whose film Mank is on Netflix.
Anyway, get all of your stuff before this midweek snow thing.
