For the second round running, Not Bennyball but Bengenpress led the league, this time with 90 points in a tight race that saw the top five separated by six points.

BL4CKnRED is still the overall leader with a 13-point lead.

Positional Leaders

Four players tied for the goalkeeping lead with 9 points, all of them with clean sheets — Jimmy Maurer (DAL, $7.3), Jonathan Klinsmann (LAG, $5.1), JT Marcinkowski (SJ, $4.4), and Sebastian Frei (SEA, $6.9). For DCU, Chris Seitz ($5.4) scored 4 points.

San Jose’s Nick Lima ($8.5) added a clean sheet to his two goals on the way to 21 points, leading all defenders and all players. Well behind him were Ryan Hollingshead (DAL, $8.1), who scored 16 points on a goal and a clean sheet, and Emiliano Insua (LAG, $7.9), who scored 13 points on the strength of a clean sheet. The United defense was led by Donovan Pines ($6.9) with 11 points, followed by Chris Odoi-Atsem ($4.0) with 7, Joseph Mora ($4.6) with 3, and the pair of Frederic Brillant ($5.1) and Oneil Fisher ($4.0) with 2.

Yamil Asad (DCU, $5.7) paired a goal with an assist on the way to 14 points, leading the midfielders and equaling the output of his previous five games combined. Trailing him were the pair of Ethan Finlay (MIN, $6.7) and Hany Mukhtar (NSH, $8.7) with a brace and 12 points each. The remaining D.C. midfielders were Edison Flores ($5.6) with 5 points, Julian Gressel ($6.4) with 4, Moses Nyeman ($4.0) with 3, and the duo of Russell Canouse ($4.4) and Kevin Paredes ($4.0) with 2 each.

Vancouver’s Lucas Cavallini’s ($6.9) two goals helped him to 14 points, leading the forwards, while San Jose’s Andres Rios ($6.6) had a goal, an assist, and 12 points. Romel Quioto (MTL, $10.9) rounded out the top three with two assists and 11 points. The DCU scoring forwards were Ola Kamara ($4.3) with 3 points, both Erik Sorga ($4.0) and Gelmin Rivas ($4.0) with 2, and Griffin Yow ($4.0) with 1.

Looking Ahead

New England, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Nashville all play twice this week, while everyone else plays once. I like Jimmy Maurer in goal @NSH and @RSL, and I’m saving some money with Florian Jungwirth (SJ, $6.4) in defense @VAN. I’m using some of that money on Pedro Santos (CLB, $13.2) in the midfield @HOU, and I’m taking a gamble on Bradley Wright-Phillips at forward (LA, $9.8) at home vs. the Galaxy.
