Cristiano Ronaldo is out of the Portugal squad after testing positive for the coronavirus. FIFA has a real problem on their hands, because with the number of players that have caught the virus on international duty, clubs will not want to release them next month.

Looks like MLS will bring back the reserves league as early as next year. Call me crazy, but this is something that I think can be beneficial if they do it right.

D.C. United has begun the coaching search. Here are 10 candidates it might consider - Washington Post

Other than Jill Ellis, the list here reads like a lot of MLS retreads or former D.C. United players. The Athletic’s list has David Wagner and Marcelo Gallardo on it as well as some of the ones on the Washington Post’s list. Gallardo is a former D.C. United player, but also has made a big name for himself in the coaching ranks.

D.C. United needs to think big and not MLS retread. To me, bringing in someone from the MLS or the D.C. United coaching tree (with the exception of Gallardo) will not indicate to me that the team is ready to shake things up and really revitalize the culture. We’ll see how this progresses.
