Loudoun United learned they will be opening their 2020 season on Saturday, March 7 at 7:30pm against the Philadelphia Union II (formerly Bethlehem Steel FC) at Talen Energy Stadium, with their home opener on Wednesday, May 6 at Segra Field against the Charlotte Independence. Neil Morris of WRAL and Equalizer Soccer (who first reported that the teams would announce their openers Monday) also has said the full schedule will be released later this week.

D.C. United’s USL Championship affiliate won the last 4 regular season games of their inaugural 2019 season campaign, finishing 4 points out of a playoff spot and a 11-17-6 campaign, though they were 5-5-2 at Segra Field. Loudoun has been holding several open tryouts through the offseason (with the latest one being Saturday morning), but as of yet have not announced those who will be returning for the 2020 season.

However, the roster has not been without movement; last week fullback Hunter Gorskie signed with San Antonio FC, but before Christmas, leading goalscorer and team captain Kyle Murphy signed with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The only incoming signing known thus far is Jake Dengler, a 6 foot 5 defender who played with Pipeline Soccer and Baltimore Armour as a youth, and recently completed two years of college at the University of Connecticut after transferring from Loyola University. Roster decisions and announcements should be expected soon.
