Hey there, did you get all your holidays out and dreading going back to work and school? You’re not alone.
D.C. United reaches deal with Edison Flores to help replace departed stars (WaPo): Following a Friday night in Mexico, where Morelia announced the signing of a midfielder (Jorge Valdivia) who had been wearing the 10 for club (late of Colo Colo) and country (Chile) for a little while now, Edison Flores to D.C. United appears to be done.
And he may not be the only Peru international headed here:
I’ll add another name now to this report: Peruvian nat’l teamer Paolo Hurtado, who has been on #DCU’s radar for a month or so. Currently plays at Konyaspor in Turkey.

D.C. (and Orlando City according to Peru outlets) are apparently interested in Paolo Hurtado, an attacking midfielder who has played sparingly (due to form and injury) with Konyaspor since coming over from Portugal in 2018. Nevertheless, sign them all!
Washington Spirit sign defender Brooke Hendrix (us): The Spirit keep making acquisitions (a West Ham United player being the latest) and don’t appear to be done.
ISL: Bengaluru FC sign Jamaican forward Deshorn Brown (Outlook India): Dang, Indian Soccer League isn’t on ESPN+ is it?
Speaking of one-time D.C. United forwards:

Bruno was at Wilstermann this past year and they won the Bolivian League, but he didn’t play that much and looks for more.
Also, Rodney Wallace (without a team at the moment) appears to have gone into business for himself:
Golea San Luis al Atlas en duelo de pretemporada (Milenio): Luciano Acosta scored a goal for Atlas FC in their preseason friendly 5-2 loss to Atletico San Luis.
Finally, I just got done reading “It’s Garry Shandling’s Book”, a compilation of notes, pictures, scribblings and interviews about the man from longtime collaborator and friend Judd Apatow. It’s a nice read, serving as a companion of sorts to “The Zen Diaries,” a two-part documentary by Apatow which does the same thing. The book is a good read, and if you liked the late comic, the trailer to the documentary is here:
