This week we give a shout out to West Knox United, who put up a double century, totaling exactly 200 points while leading the round.
At the top of the league, Demonbarber19 is ten points clear of second place.
Brad Stuver (NYC, $4.9) posted a clean sheet on his way to 12 points, leading all goalkeepers. Behind him, two players tied on 11 points — Joe Willis (HOU, $5.8) and Nick Rimando (RSL, $6.2), each of whom had a clean sheet. For DCU, Bill Hamid ($6.5) scored 4 points.
A trio of defenders led the position with 16 points — Ronald Matarrita (NY, $6.0), who had a clean sheet; Francisco Calvo (CHI, $6.5), who had a goal and an assist; and Aaron Herrera (RSL, $6.1), who had a clean sheet and an assist. The United defense was led by Steven Birnbaum ($7.1) with 4 points, followed by the pair of Frederic Brillant ($7.0) and Leonardo Jara ($6.3) with 3 points, and both Joseph Mora ($6.4) and Donovan Pines ($4.7) with 1 point.
Nicolas Gaitan (CHI, $9.6) cruised to the midfield lead with 26 points on the strength of a goal and three assists. Off the pace were both Mark-Anthony Kaye (LA, $10.5) with a goal and 16 points, and Kevin Molino (MIN, $8.2) with a goal, two assists, and 16 points of his own. For D.C., Lucas Rodriguez ($6.9) led with 4 points, followed by Junior Moreno ($6.4) with 3, and the 2-point trio of Russell Canouse ($6.7), Ulises Segura ($5.4), and Griffin Yow ($4.0).
LA’s Carlos Vela ($12.0) led all forwards and all players with 36 points on three goals and two assists, while his teammate, Diego Rossi ($10.5) was actually not too far off with 28 points on two goals and two assists. Alberth Elis (HOU, $10.9) added an assist to his two goals to round out the top three with 20 points. Wayne Rooney ($11.2) scored just 2 points for DCU.
Hey, it’s a break from two-game weeks! I like David Bingham (LAG, $6.9) in goal at home against San Jose, and Francisco Calvo in defense vs. Cincinnati. Nico Gaitan is your midfield man, and Kacper Przybylko (PHI, $8.0) has scored five goals in four games, so I like him at forward at RSL.
