Happy Wednesday folks. Tonight is the MLS All-Star Game (8:00pm, FS1), where the MLS All-Stars will take on Atlético Madrid. Tonight, the MLS Homegrowns defeated Chivas de Guadalajara’s U-20s on penalties, and Orlando City won the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge. Let’s see what action tonight brings.

Jill Ellis stepping down as USWNT head coach | Stars & Stripes FC

The two-time Women’s World Cup champion head coach announces her resignation from the United States Women’s National Team. Jill Ellis will coach the Victory Tour before she walks away from the job. The search now begins for the coach who will take this team into the 2020 Olympics and beyond.

In D.C. United news, The Athletic’s Pablo Maurer reports that Russell Canouse could be out for a while:

A punctured lung?! Jeez. Hopefully, he will be back in time for the home stretch to get this team towards the playoffs. We will likely see a lot more of Chris Durkin, and perhaps Jose Torres Jose Francisco Torres will be the team’s next signing?

Also, Maurer made another report about a possible roster update:

The Salt: Mike Petke — and RSL — may have a big problem | RSL Soapbox

Real Salt Lake’s Mike Petke was suspended two more matches for his language towards officials in the Leagues Cup. There are some rumors over what he may have said to the referees after the match, and they’re not great at all. Frankly, they’re downright disgusting. Could RSL have a real problem on their hands? Could Mike Petke?

Back to the USWNT, look at what we have here from the USMNT...again, they’re standing behind their fellow national team players in calling for equal pay for both WNT and MNT players.

Alex Mendez signs deal with AFC Ajax | Stars & Stripes FC

Alex Mendez moves from Freiburg to Ajax, and hopefully this means he will have a chance to see some first team minutes.

Report: Rape case dropped against Neymar | NBC Sports

Brazilian police have decided to end pursuit a rape charge that was levied a couple months ago against Neymar. Prosecutors now evaluate what the police discovered and a judge makes a final decision on the case in a couple weeks.

DC United’s Wayne Rooney rested, ready for All-Star Game | MLS

Wayne Rooney is ready to compete in the All-Star Game, and he also dismissed any notion that he’s walking away from the game, or D.C. United, anytime soon. English tabloids gonna tabloid.

That’s it for today. Stay warm and dry out there.
