Oh, what a wonderful night it was here in Lyon last night. The United States Women’s National Team has done us all proud, and after the win last night, I partied till 3:00am and then came home to watch Copa America until I fell asleep around 4:30am. Needless to say, I am WIRED and so these Freedom Kicks will be short, but sweet. Let’s go!
The USWNT defeated England 2-1 to advance to its 3rd straight Women’s World Cup final. Christen Press and Alex Morgan both scored for the United States (the latter sipping tea in celebration), and Alyssa Naeher came up with the save of a lifetime on a late England penalty kick to save the Americans. They will face the winner of tonight’s other semifinal against the Netherlands and Sweden, and your boy will be in the building on Sunday to watch the USWNT go for a 4th star.

They will face the winner of Chile versus Peru, which is tonight.

Mexico got lucky again. Haiti held El Tri scoreless through 90 minutes, but in extra time, Mexico drew a penalty, which Raul Jimenez converted. It was a 1-0 victory for Mexico, and they advance to the Gold Cup final to take on either the USMNT or Jamaica.
