D.C. United versus Orlando City lineup: Tweaks to the squad

Will Ben Olsen make a couple of changes tonight?

D.C. United takes on Orlando City tonight as MLS action resumes, and we turn our eyes the the lineup that Ben Olsen will put on the field. He ran out a primarily first-choice lineup against the Philadelphia Union and New York City FC, but in both games the team didn’t seem to be fully clicking. But will Olsen change anything up tonight?

I think that Olsen will run out almost the same lineup as against New York City FC, but I would like to see changes in two places. The first is that I would like to see Griffin Yow start this game over Ulises Segura, for many of the reasons that I detailed a couple of weeks ago: he seems like he could be the most Paul Arriola-like replacement for Paul Arriola (who this team definitely misses). Yow has been a shot of energy in minutes that he has appeared so far, and so I would like to see what he could do over the course of an entire 90 minutes.

If he is healthy, I would also like to see Donovan Pines get the start on the back line. He made big strides while he was starting as a part of a back three, and I would like to see what he can do as part of a traditional back four as well. Especially with Arriola out, the team doesn’t have the traditional setup to go with wingbacks. I don’t think that we will necessarily see both of these changes, but it is definitely possible that we will see at least one of them.

What do you want to see Ben Olsen do against Orlando City?
