Liverpool v Barcelona - UEFA Champions League Semi Final: Second Leg Photo by Clive Brunskill/Getty Images

My goodness, ladies and gentlemen! Tuesday was epic. Whether you watched Champions League, the U.S. Open Cup, or followed all the transfer news in MLS, it was a day of a ton of news. Let’s get into it.

Liverpool stuns Barcelona in shocking Champions League semifinal upset | Washington Post

FC Barcelona held a 3-0 aggregate lead on Liverpool entering yesterday’s 2nd leg at Anfield. Somehow, Liverpool pulled off the incredible comeback, winning 4-0 (4-3 aggregate) and punching their ticket to the Champions League final. As the resident Real Madrid fan, allow me to express my thoughts on Barca’s monumental collapse:

Donovan Pines out about a month; D.C. United working on transfer move | Washington Post

Bad news for D.C. United as Donovan Pines is out a month with a Grade 2 MCL sprain. There was no transfer help coming in, so an injured back line gets even more depleted for the next 4 weeks.

Atlanta United acquire winger Justin Meram from Columbus Crew SC | MLS

The major trade of the day in MLS was Justin Meram moving from Columbus Crew SC to Atlanta United for a draft pick and some Garber Bucks.

FC Cincinnati sacks Koch as coach after just 11 MLS games | ESPNFC

FC Cincinnati apparently thinks it’s in the EPL, because they fired their coach after 11 matches in MLS. That seems...quick.

‘As soon as I hit it, I knew it was a goal’: Wayne Rooney on the art of the free kick | The Athletic

A great article featuring Wayne Rooney breaking down his free kick against Columbus back on April 24th and how he decided on how to shoot the ball into the net. Fascinating stuff.

DeAndre Yedlin undergoes surgery | Stars & Stripes FC

DeAndre Yedlin may not be ready for the Gold Cup after undergoing surgery yesterday. Let’s hope he’s 100% by next month.

Before you hit the comments, Stars & Stripes FC has created a nice Google calendar for the Women’s World Cup. Make sure you add it so you don’t miss any of the action!
