Wazza’s hatty, Titi’s golazo & more: Freedom Kicks for 3/18/19

There was a lot of soccer this weekend. Come catch up with us.

Well that was a fun weekend of #soccer, wasn’t it?

Recaps of D.C. United’s 5-0 win over Real Salt Lake from us (with more from us here and here), MLS (with more from them here), WaPo and Flo. RSL Soapbox with the other side of things.

DiBiasi might be just what the Spirit need to put 2018 behind them (us): Kim McCauley was down in Richmond to check out the Washington Spirit, who may be...good again?

Loudoun United score first goal, get first point in 1-1 draw. (us): Hey, Griffin Yow scored! Go look! Sidenote, this is the only place that has gamers of (or features from) all three local pro teams this weekend. Tell your friends, this website is free, etc.

Mother Knows Best (The Athletic, $): If you weren’t over Nick DeLeon leaving for Toronto FC then...you probably shouldn’t read this. But you should, because it’s good.

U.S. Soccer in talks to hire Jason Kreis as men’s Olympic team coach (The Athletic, $): God love you, U.S. Soccer, don’t ever change.

Lavelle, Sullivan, newcomers receive new jersey numbers (Spirit): In case you needed to track who was wearing what this year for the Spirit, this should sort you.

Park Chan-wook Directing Violent Western (Bloody Disgusting): I’m a fan of Park’s work and really liked his take on ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ which he did for AMC. And if he does this (which apparently Matthew McConaughey is interested in) like I hope he will, it will kick Hateful Eight in the taint. Or should at least.

That’s all I got. Hopefully D.C. hasn’t scored any more goals since then, because that would be just gross.
