Naka nakos led the league this round with 102 points, 13 more than the next team. MLS Fantasy still won’t let me see the teams of others from the last round, so you’ll just have to imagine it. Demonbarber19 is still the overall leader.
Positional Leaders
Goalkeepers
Zack Steffen (CLB, $6.7) put up a clean sheet, saved a penalty, and added an assist for 18 points, leading all goalkeepers and all players, and he was followed closely by Tim Melia (SKC, $6.5m), who had a clean sheet and saved penalty of his own. Trailing them was DCU’s Bill Hamid ($6.9) with a clean sheet and 10 points.
Defenders
Reto Ziegler (DAL, $6.2) contributed a goal and a clean sheet on the way to 16 points, leading all defenders, while his teammate, Matt Hedges ($7.0) posted a clean sheet and 12 points. Between them was Seattle’s Kelvin Leerdam, whose goal and clean sheet sent him on the way to 13 points. For United, Steven Birnbaum ($7.0) and Frederic Brillant ($6.5) tallied 9 points each, while Leonardo Jara ($7.0) and Joseph Mora ($6.0) had 6 points each.
Midfielders
Two goal-scoring midfielders, Albert Rusnak (RSL, $11.0) and Ilie Sanchez (SKC, $8.7) scored 11 points, leading the position. Behind them was the pair of Bryan Acosta (DAL, $7.4) and Mark-Anthony Kaye (LA, $8.1), who each had a goal of their own for 10 points. Junior Moreno ($7.0) led the D.C. midfield with 6 points, while Paul Arriola ($9.5) scored 5, Russell Canouse ($7.9) scored 4, the pair of Luciano Acosta ($11.4) and Lucas Rodriguez ($9.2) scored 3, and Ulises Segura ($5.8) scored 1.
Forwards
LA’s Carlos Vela ($10.0) added a goal to two assists for 16 points, leading all forwards. Behind him, Gyasi Zardes (CLB, $9.7) bagged a brace on the way to 13 points, and Darwin Quintero (MIN, $12.0) paired a goal and an assist for 11 points. DCU’s Wayne Rooney ($10.5) was the only scoring forward, with 2 points.
Looking Ahead
Keep rolling with Tim Melia in goal this round, as he visits Colorado, and Kelvin Leerdam is a good play in defense on the road against Chicago. I like Diego Valeri (POR, $11.5) to get going in the midfield at Cincinnati, and Gyasi Zardes to make it two straight with a goal at home against Dallas.
