MLS: Rowdies Suncoast Invitiational-Montreal Impact at DC United Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports

Hi, hey D.C. United’s season starts in six days, how about that?

But first, they laid a bit of a turd against the Montreal Impact Saturday night. You can read about it from us here, or on MLS, or on Mount Royal Soccer if you so choose.

D.C. United was quiet in the preseason. Too quiet? (WaPo): Maybe?

DC United 2019 Season Preview (American Soccer Analysis): Having read several previews, I liked this one’s fancy graphs.

Rooney ya tiene plan para cuando se retire de las canchas (AS): Wayne Rooney plans to be a farmer is what I take from this.

Next up, captured on Instagram were comments from a soccer mom about Washington Spirit coach Richie Burke:

The comments went on to be deleted by the Spirit, but they’ve certainly picked up traction, including this statement by the Spirit Squadron:

We’re working on some more surrounding this but at the moment, this news and the Spirit’s handling of same does not encourage.

Report: Loudoun United adding two Costa Ricans, Honduran to roster (us): Down a level, Loudoun’s roster gets filled out a little more. Related, here’s their XI from their scrimmage Thursday:

So of that XI, 4 are under contract, 1 (Peabo Doue) essentially is, 3 are Academy alums, and one is another Honduras U20 player, who signed a contract with Necaxa a couple years ago. As far as initial rosters go, this one...isn’t bad?

American in Russian’s team (Wall): If you have some time and want to translate some Russian, this interview with current Academy player (and Russian prospect) Philip Bogdanov is for you.

VENDSYSSEL FF TILKNYTTER KAMARA (Vendyssel): Remember Alhaji Kamara? He’s turned up in Denmark following turns in the Saudi and Moldovan Leagues.

José Andrés Will Present at the Oscars (Washingtonian): I didn’t watch the Oscars even for the only category I cared about (Best Feature Documentary) but there was a kinda sorta D.C. United connection to last night.

‘Office Space’ Turns 20: How Mike Judge Brought Flair, Assclowns and Red Staplers to the World (Variety): Looks around This...still kinda holds up? Either way, go see it again.

Hit the comments with what character you relate to most from Office Space. I’ll start. I’m Steve, the guy who was selling magazines and who had to tell them how to embezzle.
