Loudoun United add defender Harri Hawkins

The LUFC signings continue with the club’s USL Championship season approaching

Black and Red United

Loudoun United has announced the signing of center back Harri Hawkins, who will bolster D.C. United’s satellite at the back. Hawkins, who turns 26 in less than a week, played with Penn FC last year, appearing in 22 games. He made 8 appearances with the New York Cosmos and Cosmos B in 2017, 6 games with the PDL’s Ventura County Fusion in 2016 and 15 games with the Long Island Rough Riders over 2014 and 2015. Hawkins is British born and played in England’s fifth and sixth divisions before going to school at Hofstra.

Hawkins seems like a probable starter at center back, though who his partner will be there remains to be seen. It would appear to be reasonable to say that D.C. United homegrown signing Donovan Pines is probably going to spend some time alongside him. Between Hawkins (6’3”), Pines (6’5”), and goalkeeper Calle Brown (6’6”), crossing into the Loudoun box is probably going to be tough for opponents.

Hawkins is the 7th USL signing for Loudoun, who play at Nashville SC in just over two weeks.
