It is the dreariest time of year, cold and wet and the shortest of days and no Major League Soccer. But in a few weeks time, we should have preseason games over which to obsess, and then just a few weeks more until we’re back into the regular season and spring will start to bloom. We can do it and we will do it together! To the links:
D.C. United’s Yamil Asad negotiations held up by shifting club demands | The Athletic: It looks like D.C. United had a deal in December and then Velez changed their minds.
DC United’s Paul Arriola thinks he’s a good fit for Gregg Berhalter’s USMNT | MLSsoccer.com: Yesssss do it Gregg!
Indy Inks Championship Record-Setter Kelly | USLchampionship.com: Welp, definitely need that backup striker for sure now.
Getting word center back @kofiopare6, whose option wasn't exercised by D.C. United, is going to the @ColoradoRapids. He made 62 league starts the past 4 seasons. Underwent 2 surgeries, including one on foot, late in 2018. Cleared to play again. #dcu #mls #Rapids96

Speaking of positions D.C. United now definitely need more help at...
After flirting with idea of spending part of training camp in Middle East or Asia (aka Rooney-led marketing tour), D.C. United not likely to go abroad in preseason. Workouts and 4-5 friendlies in Florida. Details expected this week. #dcu #mls

Y’all, I still really miss DeLeon. =(
Austin FC immediately became MLS’ most-hated team | USA Today: They haven’t surpassed Orlando for me yet, but I definitely think they are starting in the same ballpark as the Lions.
That’s all I have, what’s up?
