D.C. United wins and a wonder goal in Serie A: Freedom Kicks for 9/3/18

A quickie for y’all today.

Hi. I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t really have a heck of a lot. As I’ve said in the past, Sunday games generally suck for a multitude of reasons, but a Sunday night game ahead of a holiday Monday results in a content dry spell of sorts, along with the fact that you’re probably doing better stuff outside than staying inside reading a dumb soccer blog.

So I’ll leave it to you to fill in the gaps as you see fit. Maybe you want to talk about D.C. United’s 3-1 win over Atlanta United FC, or words thereabouts from us, MLS and Dirty South Soccer. Here’s Ben Olsen postgame via our own Steven Streff:

Maybe you want to know that Paul Arriola is going to be playing for the United States men’s team (or is at least on the roster for their games). Maybe you want to chat about the Washington Spirit’s drawn-out end to their 2018 season thanks to weather, and a 1-1 draw with Sky Blue FC. Once a Metro has the opposing side’s view.

Maybe you’re here for this bit of porn from Fabio Quagliarella in Sampdoria’s win over Napoli. LOOK AT THE STUNNED REACTIONS!

Here’s the back-end view:

Maybe you’re like me and didn’t know that a) Korean director Chan-wook Park (of Oldboy and The Handmaiden) has remade John Le Carre’s “The Little Drummer Girl” for miniseries broadcast in November.

Either way, I’ve got a day of entertaining my near 2-year old on my hands, and Monkey Joe’s awaits. The floor is yours.
