Happy (friendly) United Day.

Happy Wednesday folks, and it’s a friendly United Day! Tonight, D.C. United will face CD Olimpia of Honduras in a friendly match at Audi Field (8:00pm, dcunited.com). Expect to see a lot of the backups and reserves play tonight while the starters get rest as they gear up for the stretch run.

Before the news, here’s a video made by Big Rob Gillespie, who is fighting a rare form of leukemia and has been soliciting funds via a GoFundMe page set up to help him get the treatments needed to beat this disease. Big Rob is a friend of mine and a diehard supporter of the club, and any help you can provide is appreciated.

Schalke makes it really hard for the USMNT to evaluate Weston McKennie | SB Nation

Weston McKennie had an assist for Schalke 04 against FC Porto today in Champions League play, but is Schalke’s style of play making it difficult for the USMNT to figure out how best to use the young midfielder?

That’s all for now. Hit the comments with any other news of the day, and we’ll see you at Audi Field tonight!
