Fantasy Focus: Nacho’s Grande

There goes that man again.

MLS: New England Revolution at Montreal Impact Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

For the second round in a row, Zoltan! led the scoring, this time with 139 points.

The use and captaining of Ignacio Piatti (MTL, $12.7) was especially prescient. MILLERtime When WYNNE’n still leads, but now by 17 points.

Positional Leaders

D.C. United was on bye this week. Again. I know.

Goalkeepers

Jeff Attinella (POR, $6.0) led all goalkeepers with a clean sheet and 11 points, while the pair of Bobby Shuttleworth (MIN, $5.5) and Zack Steffen (CLB, $5.9) each posted a clean sheet of their own for 9 points.

Defenders

Four defenders tied at the top of the chart with 11 points — Milton Valenzuela (CLB, $7.1), Ike Opara (SKC, $7.6), Francisco Calvo (MIN, $6.3), and Nicolas Hasler (TOR, $4.8) — each had a clean sheet, and Hasler added an assist.

Midfielders

Ignacio Piatti scored contributed a goal and three assists on the way to 22 points, leading all midfielders and all scorers. Well behind him were Kaku (NYR, $9.8), with 16 points on a goal and two assists, and Wilfried Zahibo (NE, $10.2), with two goals and 14 points.

Forwards

The Los Angeles Galaxy’s Giovani dos Santos ($7.2) paired a goal with an assist for 13 points, leading all forwards. Just behind him, the pair of Anthony Jackson-Hamel (MTL, $4.3) and Romell Quioto (HOU, $7.5) scored 12 points apiece, with Jackson-Hamel scoring twice and Quioto tallying a goal and an assist.

Looking Ahead

Nine teams play twice this round: Atlanta, Toronto, LA(FC), Seattle, Philadelphia, Columbus, Chicago, Montreal, and Minnesota. Games start on Wednesday night, and it’s a great time to load up on guys who are playing twice. With that in mind, I like Alex Bono (TOR, $6.8) in goal at home against Seattle and at New England, and Harrison Afful (CLB, $6.3)in defense at home against both Philadelphia and Chicago. Miguel Almiron (ATL, $13.8) is a must in midfield at home against Kansas City and at Orlando, and I’ve finally got Sebastian Giovinco (TOR, $9.5) back in the team as one of my forwards.
