Fantasy Focus: That’ll do, Schweinsteiger

That in itself is a tremendous thing.

MLS: Chicago Fire at Toronto FC John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

Zoltan! led the scoring this round with 105 points.

Miguel Almiron (ATL, $13.3) was clearly an astute choice as captain. MILLERtime When WYNNE’n’s overall lead is down slightly to 33 points.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers

New England’s Matt Turner ($7.7) led the goalkeepers with 10 points on the strength of a clean sheet. Behind him, the pair of Alex Bono (TOR, $6.3) and Tyler Miller (LA, $7.1) scored 9 points, with Bono saving a penalty and Miller posting a clean sheet. For DCU, Steve Clark ($6.0) scored 4 points.

Defenders

Laurent Ciman (LA, $8.8) paired a clean sheet and a goal for 14 points and the positional lead, while Harrison Afful (CLB, $6.3) scored a goal on the way to 11 points. Ciman’s teammate Walker Zimmerman’s ($6.1) clean sheet helped him to 10 points. For United, both Nick DeLeon ($6.4) and Joseph Mora ($5.0) led with 4 points, while Frederic Brillant ($6.8) scored 3, Steve Birnbaum ($5.0) scored 2, and Oneil Fisher ($4.0) scored 1.

Midfielders

Bastian Schweinsteiger (CHI, $10.9) notched a goal and an assist on the way to 17 points, leading all midfielders and all players despite missing a penalty. Close behind was the pair of Miguel Almiron and Kaku, with each scoring 15 points — Almiron scored twice, and Kaku scored once while tallying two assists. Zoltan Stieber ($6.6) led the D.C. midfield with 12 points, followed by Luciano Acosta ($8.2) with 6, the pair of Yamil Asad ($7.8) and Chris Durkin ($4.2) with 4, and Ulises Segura ($6.9) with 2.

Forwards

David Villa’s (NYC, $10.7) 13 points on two goals led all forwards. Romell Quioto (HOU, $7.0) had an assist and 11 points, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic (LA, $9.6) had two assists and 10 points. Darren Mattocks ($6.8) scored 6 points to lead the DCU forwards, followed by Bruno Miranda ($6.5) with 4, and Patrick Mullins ($4.0) with 3.

Looking Ahead

I’ve got Tim Melia (SKC, $6.8) in goal at home against Colorado, and Gregory van der Wiel (TOR, $5.1) is a good budget option in defense at home against Philadelphia. I like Yoshimar Yotun (ORL, $9.9) in the midfield at home against accommodating house guests RSL, and look to Alberth Elis (HOU, $11.2) to score at home against the Galaxy.
