A big day for U.S. Soccer

Happy Wednesday folks. I write this on a Megabus from NYC back to DC after attending a Q&A event for new United States Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter. His introduction leads today’s news links:

Gregg Berhalter was officially introduced today as USMNT head coach, and he’s ready to get to work. His biggest challenge: bringing fans back who have walked away from the team over recent performances and distaste over U.S. Soccer’s hiring process.

MNT opens 2019 against regional foe Panama on Jan. 27 at State Farm Stadium | U.S. Soccer
The USMNT also announced that they will open up their 2019 slate with a friendly in Glendale, Arizona against Panama. They will also head to San Jose to play Costa Rica on February 2nd.

The Washington Spirit’s lady in the middle, Estefania Banini, will be back in red, blue and white next season.
