Fantasy Focus: You ain’t got to go home...

You know the rest

MLS: D.C. United at Chicago Fire Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

The curtain has fallen on MLS Fantasy 2018. First, it’s time to recognize the leader for the final round, Zoltan!, who scored 105 points and was the only team to score more than 90 points. Zoltan! comes in seventh in the second season, after using that big score to climb up from ninth.

Now it’s time to put a proper lid on the season. There was drama going into the final round, with MILLERtime When WYNNE’n holding a narrow 12-point lead over Demonbarbers. How did it end?

MILLERtime When WYNNE’n scored two more points than Demonbarbers, fending off the challenger for the title. It was pretty tight among the top five, with just 71 points separating the top scorers. Congratulations go to multi-time champion MILLERtime When WYNNE’n for a season well played.

That’s it, and that’s all. I think the changes to MLS Fantasy this year overall were bad, poorly executed, and ill conceived. I’m hoping that with an offseason to fine tune things, the game will return in 2019 much better than it ended. Thanks, again, for playing.
