MLS had quite the day yesterday, but the Black-and-Red news came in late.

Happy Wednesday folks. MLS had a bit of a day yesterday, but there was one late night Black & Red United exclusive, so let’s get right to it:

D.C. United to sign Saprissa midfielder Ulises Segura | Black & Red United

Ulises Segura appears to be on his way to D.C. United. The 24-year-old Costa Rica international leaves Deportivo Saprissa to bolster the Black-and-Red midfield.

MLS Announces Nashville Event Where it’s Expected to Accept Expansion Bid | Sports Illustrated

Today, MLS is expected to announce Nashville as its 25th franchise. It’s going to be a fantastic annual roadtrip, let me tell you. What’s unclear is who the 26th franchise will be: Sacramento, Cincinnati or Detroit.

MLS announces 2018 home openers for all 23 clubs | MLS

MLS also announced the 2018 home openers. The Black-and-Red will begin on the road for the first two weeks of the season, at Orlando City on March 3rd and at Atlanta United on March 11th. They will open up “at home” on March 17th against the Houston Dynamo, although where that match will be is still unknown.

Could Cary be an MLS venue sooner than expected, if only for a day? | News & Observer

This seems less likely now, but Cary is excited at the prospects of possibly hosting the Black-and-Red for a game next season. Will they be the site of the March 17th match?

The New York Islanders have been approved to build an arena at Belmont Park. Why is this important? Their proposal beat out that of New York City FC for the site, and NYCFC now go back to the drawing board in their search for a permanent home.
