Hi, I’m getting new floors today, and spent most of the weekend moving stuff accordingly. I also tweaked links to avoid moving more stuff. Bring on the muscle relaxers!
It was a good weekend for Portland, let’s be honest. Saturday, the Portland Thorns beat the North Carolina Courage 1-0 in the NWSL Final (us, Stumptown Footy and Four Four Two), then Sunday the Portland Timbers beat D.C. United 4-0 (us, Stumptown Footy and MLS). The Timbers Army did some good tifo as per the norm, but here’s the taste in our mouths:

They also confirmed that he will not play in the season finale next week #dcu #mls

Would you like more post-mortems on the United States not getting to the World Cup? Sure you do:
Charlie Boehm thinks MLS should work with the USSF now (US Soccer Players).
J.R. Eskilson thinks it’s not as bad as people think it is (Top Drawer Soccer).
Brian Straus looks back at what the Bruce did past these last 11 months (SI).
Jermaine Jones burns all the bridges (Stars and Stripes FC)...
...while it still hurts for Matt Besler (Kansas City Star).
You want to be USSF Prez? Well, Grant Wahl thinks Sunil stays, Soccer America lets you know how the election works just in case (while providing an update on solidarity payments).
Whew. ANYWAY...
U17 Midfielder Chris Durkin Knows Spotlight Is Shining (ASN): Pretty good read on Durks’ India time. My hot taek? Kid will play center back and get forced out of a crowded midfield in the short term.
Icardi hat trick gives Inter Derby win (Serpents of Madonnina): In partner club news, Mauro Icardi had a hatter, including an insane brace, as Inter Milan beat AC Milan 3-2. Inter hurdle Juventus and remain undefeated with 7 wins and a draw in 8 games, 2 points behind still unbeaten Napoli.
Clement cites one big change as key factor in Swansea's win over Huddersfield (Wales Online): In more partner club news, Tammy Abraham scored a pair as Swansea City beat Huddersfield Town 2-0, vaulting them into 13th, a point behind the vanquished, along with Southampton and West Bromwich Albion.
OK, guess I gotta move some stuff. Talk to you later!
