Fantasy Focus: Rowe Your Oats

One man scores 18 points in one round after scoring 18 over three rounds.

Just one team hit the century mark this round, and it was Leister City FC leading the league for the second consecutive week, this time with 100 points. Nicolas Lodeiro (SEA, $12.3) scored an armband-aided 26 points with an assist to lead the team, followed by Ethan Finlay (CLB, $10.9), who scored a goal and added two assists for 15 points, and Bradley Wright-Phillips (NYR, $12.1), who scored two goals and 14 points. !BL4CKnRED-2014Champ stretched the overall lead to 49 points.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeeper

Tim Howard (COL, $6.6) led the goalkeepers with a clean sheet and 8 points. Behind him were David Bingham (SJ, $6.3) and Stefan Frei (SEA, $6.1), each of whom earned clean sheets and scored 7 points. DCU’s Bill Hamid ($6.2) scored 2 points.

Defenders

The pair of Jared Watts (COL, $6.2) and Raul Rodriguez (HOU, $8.4) led the defenders with 10 points, each of them earning a clean sheet. Just behind them were San Jose teammates Victor Bernardez ($7.9) and Andres Imperiale ($7.1) earned clean sheets of their own for 9 points. D.C.’s scoring defenders were led by Bobby Boswell ($8.2) with 8 points, followed by Taylor Kemp ($7.9) with 5 points, and Steve Birnbaum ($8.0) with 1 point.

Midfielders

Kelyn Rowe (NE, $9.8) added an assist to two goals for 18 points, leading all players. Ethan Finlay’s 15 points just bested Michael Bradley (TOR, $10.6), who paired an assist with a goal for 14 points. For United, Rob Vincent ($5.7) scored 7 points, followed by both Marcelo Sarvas ($7.3) and Lloyd Sam ($9.5) with 3 points, Patrick Nyarko ($7.5) with 2, and each of Julian Büscher ($5.5), Nick DeLeon ($6.3), and Lamar Neagle ($8.1) scored 1.

Forwards

Columbus’ Ola Kamara ($8.9) added a brace to an assist for 17 points, leading the position. Bradley Wright-Phillips’s 14 points were good for second. The trio of Kei Kamara (NE, $11.3), Jozy Altidore (TOR, $10.5), and Dom Dwyer (SKC, $10.5) scored 13 points, with Kamara and Dwyer scoring a goal and assisting another, and Altidore scoring twice. For DCU, Luciano Acosta ($8.8) scored 7 points, and Patrick Mullins ($6.4) scored 3.

Looking Ahead

Everyone plays once, and games start on Friday night. In goal, I like Luis Robles (NYR, $6.4) in goal at home against Montreal and this isn’t at all a reverse jinx. In defense, I like Marlon Hairston (COL, $5.6) at Vancouver, and in the midfield it’s Diego Valeri (POR, $11.4) at Houston. At forward, keep riding the hot hand of Jozy Altidore at home to Philadelphia.
