Friday Freedom Kicks: Live from Outpost #31

MLS expansion, player moves, and checking in on a former Washington Spirit player

The cold weather has officially settled in, and there’s a new dog in my life (my mom adopted a dog last night, so I went over there to be introduced). This sounds like the start of a movie.

You’re damn right I went back to Kurt Russell references. ‘Tis the season to watch The Thing once a week! Except in this case this is an actual dog, and not an infectious alien organism’s cloned version of a dog. I have not been infected by an alien life form. But then, if I were, how would you know? Would I even know?

Look, if we meet, don’t shoot me with a flamethrower unless I give you a good reason. That’s my main concern.

And on that note, links!

Houston Dynamo trade Sheanon Williams to Vancouver | Dynamo Theory
In the midst of a slew of moves all over MLS, the Dynamo traded their starting right back to the Whitecaps, whose right back choices in 2016 were both players on loan who won’t be back next year.

Megan Oyster going from strength to strength in Australia's W-League | ESPN FC
Former Washington Spirit center back Megan Oyster is doing work with the Newcastle Jets. Sigh.

That’s it for me. Stay safe during today’s furious blast of arctic air, and take time to shout at the sky about how inappropriately cold it is for what is not yet technically even winter.
