Fantasy Focus: Everything Neagle

Dallas takes a bagel

Jennifer Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

It was a light week of MLS matches, so a score of 65 was enough to lead the round, and The Gyro Arrietas (which is a great name) did it. David Villa (NY, $10.6) wore the captain's armband and scored 24 points on a goal and an assist to lead the scorers. Bill Hamid (DCU, $6.5) saved a penalty to score 9 points, and the duo of Andrew Farrell (NE, $8.1) and Wandrille Lefevre (MTL, $5.1) scored 8 points each -- Farrell with a clean sheet, and Lefevre with a goal. Poor Man's Porales still leads overall.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers

Bill Hamid's 9 points led all goalkeepers. Both Bobby Shuttleworth (NE, $5.4) and Stefan Frei (SEA, $5.9) earned clean sheets and 8 points.

Defenders

Orlando's Aurelien Collin ($8.4) earned a clean sheet and 9 points to lead all defenders. Six defenders tied for second with 8 points -- Laurent Ciman (MTL, $7.7), Farrell, Chris Wingert (NY, $7.0), Sean St. Ledger (ORL, $7.7), Chad Marshall (SEA, $8.9), and Zach Scott (SEA, $6.8). Ciman had an assist, and the rest had clean sheets. For United, Bobby Boswell ($9.3) and Chris Korb ($5.6) earned 4 points, Steve Birnbaum ($7.6) earned 3, and Taylor Kemp ($7.7) earned 2.

Midfielders

Lamar Neagle (SEA, $8.8) scored a goal and an assist for 13 points, leading all midfielders and all players. Diego Fagundez (NE, $7.2) and Kwadwo Poku (NY, $6.6) each scored a goal and 9 points, and Poku also had an assist. DCU's midfield was led by Perry Kitchen ($7.5) with 3 points; Davy Arnaud ($6.5), Chris Rolfe ($9.0), and Nick DeLeon ($6.4) had 2; and Luis Silva ($8.4) and Miguel Aguilar ($4.9) had 1.

Forwards

David Villa's 12 points led all forwards. Obafemi Martins (SEA, $11.7) tallied a goal and an assist for 9 points, and Federico Higuain (CLB, $10.6) scored a goal and 8 points. United's forwards were led by Fabian Espindola ($10.4) with 4 points, and both Jairo Arrieta ($6.4) and Conor Doyle ($5.5) earned 1 point.

Looking Ahead

Everyone plays once, except for Columbus and Chicago, who are on bye. Stefan Frei is your man in goal vs. San Jose. Take Alvas Powell (POR, $7.1) in defense at home against Houston, and get Sebastian Giovinco (TOR, $12.1) in midfield at home against NYCFC. For forwards, get Oba Martins (SEA, $11.7). Keep one eye on next week as 12 of 20 teams are playing two matches, and unless you have a wild card, you only will have two free transfers to get in guys playing doubles.

Everyone's Adding: G - Stefan Frei (+38), D - Tyrone Mears (SEA, $7.0, +119), M - Sebastian Giovinco (+345), F - Octavio Rivero (VAN, $9.1)

Everyone's Dropping: G - Steve Clark (CLB, $5.6, -39), D - Jeff Larentowicz (CHI, $8.0, -199), M - Harry Shipp (CHI, $8.1, -285), F - Kei Kamara (CLB, $9.1, -586)
