USWNT vs. Korea Republic TV/streaming, previews, prediction, lineup, and gamethread

The U.S. women's national team get one last tune-up before their World Cup begins.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Well, here we are, about one week out from the start of the Women's World Cup (the USWNT face Australia June 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1 and NBC Universo). But before we get to Canada, there's one more send-off friendly to be played.

The USWNT turned in wins against the Republic of Ireland (3-0) and Mexico (5-1), and they'll look to do the same today against the Korea Republic. Ready? Let's do it.

Kickoff time: 4:30 p.m. ET

Venue: Red Bull Arena (Harrison, N.J.)

TV/Streaming: Bucking the Fox trend for USWNT games—this one's on ESPN, or WatchESPN if you're not at a television. It'll also be broadcast delayed at 9:00 p.m. on Univision Deportes.

Projected lineup: Because I'm lazy, I'm predicting the same eleven that started against Mexico. We'll get Hope Solo in goal, with Ali Krieger, Julie Johnston, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Meghan Klingenberg lining up in defense. In midfield, I'll say we see Morgan Brian, Lauren Holiday, Carli Lloyd, and Megan Rapinoe, with Sydney Leroux and Christen Press up top.

There is a possibility here that Ellis opts to rest some starters heading into the tournament, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see Christie Rampone or Lori Chalupny step in today on the back line, or Tobin Heath grab a start in midfield. Abby Wambach and Amy Rodriguez are always there for forwards, too. Depth, amirite?

Match previews and recommended reading: The usual game notes from US Soccer here. Goal.com also discusses the USWNT's depth and battling for starting spots. Other things: this feature on Whitney Engen, this one on Syndey Leroux, and this one on Christen Press.

What are you drinking? I'll be in Lot 8 at RFK drinking whatever beer someone is kind enough to share with me.
