I almost just dozed off on the couch with this space reading "Intro," so let's just get to it:

D.C. United news and notes | Soccer Insider
Steve Goff got some quotes from Fabian Espindola - "I hate turf," mainly - and broached the topic of a Bill Hamid contract offer/transfer to Ben Olsen, who tidily one-touched that ball towards Dave Kasper.

Hustler of the week: Perry Kitchen, D.C. United | Hustle Belt
If only the president would make the short trip over to RFK. He likes beer and burgers, right? Maybe we've been selling this wrong.

Ike Opara out for months with Achilles injury | The Blue Testament
This is a flat-out disaster for Sporting Kansas City unless they can bundle some adequate forwards, allocation cash, and/or draft picks to find someone to cover the loss. Otherwise, they're bound for like 8th place in the West.

Sebastien Le Toux okay to play | The Brotherly Game
This was a pretty grisly injury, with Sebastien Le Toux simply bleeding so much from a collision with the ad boards that the Philadelphia Union didn't even spend time pondering whether to keep him on. In the end, he needed just five stitches, so he'll be on the field against NYCFC tomorrow.

The USWNT roster for the 2015 Women's World Cup was announced yesterday, as you hopefully read here on B&RU. The best announcement by an NWSL team goes to the Houston Dash:

USMNT vs. Mexico to be played despite El Tri's concerns about field | Stars & Stripes FC
Temporary grass laid on turf a couple of day ahead of a game is idiotic, but it keeps happening because people hear "turf" and think that's as bad as it can get. We never learn. Rinse, wash, repeat.

3 things we learned from Real Madrid's 0-0 draw with Atlético Madrid | SB Nation
Can't say 0-0 surprised me in this one. Also can't pretend that's an original thought.

3 things we learned from Juventus' narrow win over AS Monaco | SB Nation
You know what? Maybe I should just ditch our prediction game for predicting UEFA Champions League scores.

All I need to tell you is this: There's a Dennis Bergkamp goal in here, and it's probably not the one you're thinking of.
