Oh hi!

I didn't see you there!  You caught me in the middle of my Friday Freedom Kicks.  Did you know you can make ice cream with your freedom kicks?  It's true!

Listen: Seeing Red! with D.C. United's Jeff Park - NASNSoccer:  Jeff Parke does a podcast interview with Red Bulls fans.  At about 31:40, he explains his health issues, how the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong until they found a leak in his ear canal.  Surgery has fixed it, but he has been ordered to take it easy for a month.  By the second week of September, he expects to start training again.  Also, the interviewers have the nerve to bring up our stadium raccoons, around 38:50.  At least we don't have bedbugs on our metro.

Cuatro Rojos Seleccionado -CDS Municipal:  This is the team site for CDS Municipal, the professional team in Guatemala that picked up Carlos Ruiz and made him the highest paid footballer in the history of Central America.  It's got a picture of him doing some sort of shark move and, while my Spanish is rusty, seems to be touting the fact that he's coming to America to represent Guatemala in the Copa Centroamericana.  So he'll be at RFK along with Andy Najar for next week's triple header. That's gonna be crazy fun.

Harvey named NWSL Coach of the YearEqualizer Soccer:  Did you know that Washington Spirit coach Mark Parsons got the second most votes for NWSL Coach of the Year Award?  Well, now you do.  They've had as dramatic a turnaround as DCU has had this year.

NWSL's Year 2 attendance drops 3 percent SoccerAmerica:  This 3 percent attendance drop-off is much smaller than the 14 and 16 percent drop-offs that WUSA and MLS, respectively, experienced during their sophomore slumps  So, while the attendance numbers overall are quite modest, thanks to the mostly small venues, the stability is promising. Here at our Soccerplex, the Washington Spirit saw a 9 percent decline in attendance, but still have the fourth best ticket sales in the league - better than Abby Wambach's Western NY Flash.

Seattle Reign FC hosts FC Kansas City in NWSL Final - NWSL |  You'll need to tivo this game because it conflicts with the Pink Cow thing at RFK.  The NWSL championship starts at 3 pm EDT on ESPN2, with the likes of Sydney Leroux, Megan Rapinoe, and Hope Solo playing for Seattle.   It's a sellout crowd at Starfire Soccer Stadium.

Alessandro Del Piero joins ISL side Delhi Dynamos - Yahoo Sports:  Three bits of news from this article are (1) Del Piero is gonna keep playing.  (2) India is inaugurating a new professional league.  (3)  Nobody will let go of the idea that Del Piero might still do a stint in MLS.

Legia Warsaw fans fire back at UEFA with amazing tifo over Champions League ruling - | FOX Soccer Blog:  That's some serious tifo.  I think their parents made that.  No way they pulled that off on their own.

American Exports: Julian Green, Sacha Kljestan learn UEFA Champions League fates |  So you can keep tabs on our 2018ers in Europe, here are the groups to watch in the UEFA Champions League.

Finally, your off-topic treat for today is this video mashup of arcades in movies.
