Very sad news of Robin Williams' passing yesterday. So now, we distract ourselves from our own mortality by talking about soccer. Bangarang.
In case you missed it yesterday, Eddie Johnson apologized for lashing out on Twitter at fans who had lashed out at him:
To all the @dcunited fans I apologize for my comments made after the Game Hope we can all move forward and focus on the rest of the season!

Match Analysis: D.C. United vs. Real Salt Lake
Chad Ashton doesn't need to get deep to find what went wrong on Saturday in Rio Tinto, saying the team wasn't ready for the game and came in with the wrong mentality. Let's fix that before Sunday, k?
Have you heard about the #IceBucketChallenge? | The ALS Association
I've lost a family member to ALS - better known in the US as Lou Gehrig's Disease - and I'll get behind anything to improve awareness and research. So I'm really liking this ice bucket challenge, the viral sensation that requests those who are challenged by a friend or colleague to either dump a bucket of ice water over their head or else donate to the ALS Association. (Lots of people do both.) Last week, it crossed over into soccer territory:
I challenge @Landondonovan @TimbersFC @SoundersFC @LAGalaxy #IceBucketChallenge #24hours for @thesoccerdon http://t.co/mMFtOUlPIT
— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) August 9, 2014
Caleb Porter accepted Twellman's challenge, and passed it along to, among others, Pep Guardiola. The Bayern manager would do a fair bit to repair his post-All-Star game reputation in this country if he accepted the challenge.

Hero. Hero who will stand trial on fraud charges. But, nevertheless, hero.
As we must today, we end on Robin Williams, and one of my favorite of his many impactful scenes (and one that's sadly very appropriate).
What's on your mind today? What Robin Williams clips are you playing and replaying in your mind? Let us know in the comments - welcome to your Tuesday open thread.
