While earlier in the week MLS released the fan voting for All-Stars to face vaunted Bundesliga team Bayern Munich for the All-Star game in Portland on August 6, MLS All-Star (and Portland Timbers coach) Caleb Porter named the squad that will be facing the Germans, and goalkeeper Bill Hamid being the sole representative for D.C. United, a first (I believe) for the Homegrown system of MLS.
While Porter wanted to pick a representative group for the League against Bayern, one could consider that the lack of fellow D.C. teammates like Bobby Boswell or Fabian Espindola (or even Perry Kitchen) could be an outrage, one that I hope continues in the comments. But it is worth noting that D.C. would be on the road against Real Salt Lake that Saturday, so while Ben Olsen and Porter may have had a talk, the fact that Porter may have wanted to stick the second place team in the West with an 'as full strength as can be' United squad cannot be overlooked.
The full squad follows:
What do we think? Attaboys? Outrages? Rabbles?
