Our second place overall team is first in scoring this week, as cvIMPACT scored 85 points. Sean Johnson (CHI, $5.1M) wore the captain's armband and scored 16 points over two games to lead the team. Both Robbie Keane (LA, $11.0M) and Mike Magee (CHI, $9.8M) scored 11 points, though Keane did it in just one game to Magee's two. cvIMPACT shrunk SGV Galaxy's overall lead to 5 points.
Positional Leaders
Goalkeepers
Three players scored 8 points to tie for the goalkeeping lead -- Tally Hall (HOU, $6.0), Joe Bendik (TOR, $4.5M), and the aforementioned Sean Johnson. Tally Hall was the only one to do that while playing just one game. Bill Hamid (DCU, $4.8M) scored 3 points.
Defenders
Columbus' Chad Marshall (CLB, $5.9M) led all defenders with 11 points on the strength of a goal scored. Both Austin Berry (CHI, $5.3M) and Leonardo Gonzalez (SEA, $4.7M) tied with 9 points apiece. For DCU, Dejan Jakovic ($5.2M) led with 3 points, while both James Riley ($4.5M) and Ethan White ($4.2M) scored 2 points, and Chris Korb ($4.0M) scored 1 point.
Midfielders
Mike Magee and his 11 points led all midfielders. Teammate Patrick Nyarko ($8.7M) and Houston's Ricardo Clark ($6.7M) scored 10 points each. United's Chris Pontius ($8.1M) led the midfielders with 7 points. Both Perry Kitchen ($5.5M) and Kyle Porter ($4.7M) scored 6 points; Nick DeLeon ($7.4M), Lewis Neal ($5.2M), and Luis Silva ($6.9M) scored 3 points each; and Dwayne De Rosario ($9.3M) scored 2 points.
Forward
Federico Higuain (CLB, $9.5M) scored his first points since August 31st, and his first positive points since scoring -1 on August 24th. His 12 points led all players, and came with the help of two assists. Robbie Keane's 11 points were good for 2nd, and both Saer Sene (NE, $8.1M) and Thierry Henry ($10.5M) scored 9 points to tie for 3rd. For United, Conor Doyle ($6.7M) scored 1 point.
Looking Ahead
Philadelphia's on bye this week, and all other teams play once. The first game is on Friday, so you have less time than usual to make changes. New England is hosting D.C., so Jose Goncalves ($6.7) is a no-brainer, and give a look to Diego Fagundez ($6.8M) as well. Kansas City's Jimmy Nielsen ($5.6M) is a good bet as goalkeeper @Toronto, and Lamar Neagle (SEA, $5.7M) has scored goals and 8 points or more in 3 consecutive games.
