Fantasy Focus: If You Really Want Moor

Forwards come back to the pack, and one unexpected man has 28 points over the last four games.

USA TODAY Sports

This week it was Westphalian Tailors who led all teams with 92 points. Jose Goncalves (NE, $6.7M) earned 24 points as captain, aided by 1 goal, and 1 clean sheet over two matches, and despite scoring 0 points in his mid-week match. Behind him, Drew Moor (COL, $5.3M) scored 15 points with the help of 1 goal, and Joe Bendik (TOR, $4.5M) mustered a clean sheet and 10 points over 2 games. SGV Galaxy still leads the league.

Positional Leaders

Goalkeepers

New England's Bobby Shuttleworth ($5.3M) led all goalkeepers with 11 points over his two games. Bendik's 10 points were good for 2nd, and both Raul Fernandez (DAL, $5.6M) and Luis Robles (NY, $5.6M) tied for 3rd with 9 points. DCU's Joe Willis ($4.9M) chimed in with -1 point. Whoops.

Defenders

Drew Moor's 15 points led all defenders and all scorers. Moor has 28 points over his last four matches. Goncalves's 12 points were good for 2nd, and Kansas City's Ike Opara ($4.5M) spelled Matt Besler and scored 11 points. Four D.C. defenders registered points. Taylor Kemp ($4.3M) scored 3 points, Daniel Woolard ($3.9M) scored 2, and both James Riley ($4.5M) and Dejan Jakovic ($5.2M) scored 1 point.

Midfielders

Chicago's Joel Lindpere ($7.7M) scored a goal and assisted on two to score 14 points. Nick LaBrocca (COL, $5.3M) scored 13 points, and both Chris Rolfe (CHI, $7.3M) and Lee Nguyen (NE, $8.4M) scored 12 points. For United, both Perry Kitchen ($5.6M) and Luis Silva ($7.1M) led midfielders with 7 points, as Kitchen assisted Silva's consolation goal. Three other midfielders clocked in with 2 points -- Nick DeLeon ($7.4M), John Thorrington ($5.3M), and Sainey Nyassi ($5.6M).

Forwards

Diego Fagundez (NE, $6.7M) led all forwards with 8 points. Five more forwards tied for 2nd with 7 points -- Tristan Bowen (CHV, $4.9M), Gyasi Zardes (LA, $5.6M), Robbie Findley (RSL, $7.1M), Soony Saad (SKC, $6.2M), and Camilo (VAN, $9.1M). Just one DCU forward earned points -- Carlos Ruiz ($7.8M).

Looking Ahead

Just FC Dallas is on bye this week, and everyone else plays just once. DCU is hosting New England, so guys like Shuttleworth, Goncalves, Nguyen and Fagundez should be automatic. Josh Williams (CLB, $5.3M) hasn't been great lately, but he's got a good chance to fix that @TOR. In the midfield, look at Russell Teibert (VAN, $5.3M), who scored 6 points in his return from the Gold Cup, and has scored 39 points in his last 6 matches. At forward, maybe take a flier on Soony Saad, who's scored 3 goals in 2 games.
