As most of you know, the United States Men's National Team is coming to RFK Stadium on Sunday to celebrate 100 years of the U.S. Soccer Federation, and they'll be playing manager Jurgen Klinsmann's home country Germany. RFK is going to be packed for the occasion, but thanks to Allstate, Black and Red United has two pairs of tickets to give away to you, our readers. And one of them comes with pregame field passes.
Allstate Fan Zone
Before we get to the details of the contest, though, I want to encourage anybody going to the game to check out the Allstate Fan Zone outside of the stadium beforehand. The Allstate Fan Zone is just what it sounds like: an interactive area for fans to congregate outside the stadium before the game, open from
noon until 2 pm 9 am until 2:30 on gameday, June 2. To make it more enticing, former USMNT goalkeeper Tony Meola - he of the three World Cups and the National Soccer Hall of Fame - will be there from noon till 2, available for autographs, photos and general broing down.
Also at the Allstate Fan Zone, fans can register to win ticket upgrades, signed merch, and more. Like Allstate's "Dive for Charity, where they will have their photo taken against a green screen while blocking a shot and they can then upload it to Facebook or Twitter. Each dive will accumulate into a donation to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Scholarship Program. So it's pregame fun for a good cause - why wouldn't you go?
Now to the ticket giveaways. We have three pairs to give away and there are two ways to win, so read carefully:
Two big prizes will go to commenters here on the site. All you have to do to enter is share your favorite memory of the USMNT in the comments on this post. (If you aren't already a member of B&RU, you'll have to join the site, natch.) At the end of the contest period, Friday at noon, I will randomly select two of the comments, and those two commenters will each win two tickets to the game on Sunday, along with a pair of pre-game field passes. For official rules on the comment-to-win giveaway, click HERE. I will only be counting one comment per person as an entry, so leaving lots of comments won't help you win.
But wait, there's more. We have a third pair of tickets to hand out (sans field passes), and for this, we're turning to Twitter. Just follow the official Black and Red United twitter account and RT this tweet with the hashtag "#USMNT100", and you'll be entered to win. At the end of the contest period, Friday at noon, I will randomly select one of the retweets, and that Twitter user will receive a pair of tickets to the game. For official rules on the RT-to-win giveaway, click: HERE.
Remember, by entering you are agreeing to abide by the official rules of each contest. The contest ends promptly at noon this Friday, so get your stories and your RTs in, pronto.
Let's jump straight to it: share your favorite USMNT memory in the comments. I'll be in touch with the winners.
