Scoring 72 points this week vaulted Galacticos FC to the top of the round's leaderboard. Federico Higuain (CLB, $9.8M) wore the armband and notched a goal and an assist to get to 20 points. Columbus teammate Dominic Oduro ($7.0M) also notched a goal and an assist for 11 points, and Mike Magee (CHI, $10.0M) scored twice, and only scored 9 points because he missed a penalty, fluffed a big chance, and earned a caution. cvIMPACT leads overall for a 2nd straight week.
Positional Leaders
Goalkeepers
With a clean sheet against Kansas City, Zac MacMath (PHI, $5.1M) scored 10 points to lead all goalkeepers. Behind him, both Jeff Attinella (RSL, $4.3M) and Jon Busch (SJ, $5.1M) logged clean sheets of their own for 8 points. DCU's Joe Willis ($4.9M) scored 2 points.
Defenders
RSL man Lovel Palmer ($4.7M) bagged a clean sheet and an assist for 12 points and the overall scoring lead for the week. Chasing him, Portland teammates Futty Danso ($4.2M) and Michael Harrington ($4.7M) scored 8 points. Only two D.C. defenders scored any points this week. Daniel Woolard ($3.8M) scored 1, and Conor Shanosky ($3.9M) scored -1. That's fun.
Midfielders
FC Dallas' Mauro Diaz ($7.0M) scored a goal and assisted on another for 11 points and the positional lead. Will Johnson (POR, $7.8M) and Mike Magee scored 9 points each to tie for second. United's Jared Jeffrey ($6.0M) scored a wonder goal and 7 points, outscoring the rest of the midfield combined. Sainey Nyassi ($5.6M) played right back and scored 2 points, which was equaled by Kyle Porter ($4.7M). Both Marcelo Saragosa ($5.0M) and Collin Martin ($5.5M) scored 1 point.
Forwards
Dominic Oduro's 11 points led all forwards, and Federico Higuain's 10 was good for second. Saer Sene (NE, $8.1M) tallied 8 points. Four DCU forwards scored 6 total points -- Lionard Pajoy ($7.6M) and Michael Seaton ($5.3M) scored 2 each, and Casey Townsend ($5.6M) and Conor Doyle ($6.2M) scored 1 each.
Looking Ahead
San Jose is on bye, and everyone else plays once, with two matches on Friday night. D.C. hosts Chicago, so Sean Johnson ($4.9M) is a maybe in goal because he's not very good, and Austin Berry ($5.2M) is a good play, with the added bonus that Toronto and Dallas follow as Fire opponents. This may be the week to reintroduce Amobi Okugo (PHI, $7.3M) in midfield as Philly hosts Toronto. If you're in a budget(ish) gambling mood, play Saer Sene at forward because he's scored 2 goals and 2 assists over his last three games, with scores of 9, 8, and 8 points.
