Rumor Roundup: Andy Najar, Michael Seaton, and Joe Willis and Andrew Dykstra

Najar goes the full 90 in a friendly against Heracles, D.C. United may be signing its next homegrown player, and keepers on trial.

Russ Isabella-US PRESSWIRE

In his first full match with RSC Anderlecht, a friendly against the Dutch team Heracles, Andy Najar went the full 90 minutes. From the match report in the Belgian press, it seems as though Najar played right midfield rather than right fullback. Anderlecht won the game 4-2 and afterwards they made Najar sing in front of the rest of the group of players and staff. If I see more highlights, I will be sure to pass them along to you.

In some late breaking news, Steve Goff has tweeted that he has heard that D.C. United will be signing their next homegrown player, 16 year old forward Michael Seaton. You can read up about Seaton on Top Drawer Soccer, but they rate him as the 10th best forward in his class and the 42nd best player overall. Here is what Travis Clark said about Seaton: "For #dcu fans asking: Seaton is a big No. 9, target kid. Can mix it up a bit for his age. Long way to go, he'll play in DA still." (If you're not following Travis, do so.) As with Najar's performance, we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Finally, both of D.C. United's backup keepers have gone to England for training stints. Andrew Dykstra has gone to League One side Hartlepool United FC, while Joe Willis is currently training with Sunderland and is rumored to go from there to another training stint at West Bromwich Albion. More experience for both of these players can only help them continue to develop. Dykstra has a European Union passport and might go abroad if he can find a starting spot; if he did, I wish him the best of luck.
