GameThread 18: D.C. United Vs. Montreal Impact

The last time that the Montreal Impact paid a visit to our nation's capital, it was a disappointment for D.C. United. This team should not be coming away with less than maximum points at home against an expansion team. That's not what we expected to happen on Apr. 18, and that's not what we expect to happen on Saturday either.

Ben Olsen and his boys take winning at home very seriously. The odd scheduling of this season means that United haven't been at RFK since May 26, and won't be at RFK again until Aug. 4. That means they have to pack two months worth of home field domination into just one single match. That match is tonight.

Game time: 7:30 PM

TV: Comcast SportsNet

Projected starting lineup: With a fresh new contract in hand, we'll see Branko Boskovic return to the starting lineup in central midfield, pushing Dwayne De Rosario up top next to Chris Pontius, who happens to have scored all of United's last five goals. Nick DeLeon and Danny Cruz will probably still be the wingers, with Perry Kitchen behind them. The defense is likely to remain unchanged despite giving up three goals to the New York Red Bulls last week, meaning Daniel Woolard, Brandon McDonald, Dejan Jakovic, and Robbie Russell will still be the starters. Bill Hamid will be in goal.

Prediction: That pent up home field domination will explode tonight. I'm predicting a scoreline in the ballpark of 4-0 United.

What are you drinking? I've been hosting a two-year old's birthday party all day, and its 100 degrees out. I'm drinking water. Lots of water.
