The Seattle Sounders and D.C. United are always good for some fun games. A United comeback from two goals down to tie 3-3 at Qwest Field two years ago. A 2-1 home victory for D.C. that contained some questionable calls last year. With the two sides meeting only this once to settle the Washington Derby in 2012, can we expect anything but an exciting match?
Game time: 7:30 PM
Television: This is one of the few games this season that won't be televised here locally. So you've got three choices: (1) GO TO THE MATCH <-- preferred choice, (2) subscribe to MLS Direct Kick with you cable provider or MLS Live online, (3) just follow along with us in the Comments.
Projected starting lineup: We doubt we'll see much of any changes from the United lineup that handily defeated FC Dallas one week ago. The only change will be Dejan Jakovic starting at center back in place of the suspended Brandon McDonald. Along with Jakovic will be Emiliano Dudar in the middle, Daniel Woolard on the left, and Robbie Russell on the right. Joe Willis will remain behind them in goal. In the midfield, Perry Kitchen and Dwayne De Rosario will play centrally while Nick DeLeon and Danny Cruz will occupy the wings. Hamdi Salihi and Maicon Santos will start again up top.
Prediction: United's recent history of failing to win two matches in a row in almost three years won't be easy to overcome. I've calmed down a bit from the highs of last weekend, and admit that the Sounders' proven attack will be tough for our back line to handle. Skewer me if you want, but I'm predicting an exciting 3-2 loss.
What are you drinking? At the time of this posting, I'm at my Aunt's house for a Passover seder. I'll join you guys a bit later on. What I'm drinking will depend largely on what the host is serving, but I just really hope that its a red wine that's better than Manischewitz.
