What could be a magical year for D.C. United begins tonight at RFK Stadium. This team isn't young anymore. It isn't rebuilding anymore. Its ready. Well at least it better be. Because the defending Eastern Conference champions of Sporting Kansas City are due for a visit. And I doubt they plan on leaving without three points.
Game time: 7:30 PM
Television: Comcast SportsNet Plus
Projected starting lineup: Bill Hamid will start in net, with Daniel Woolard, Brandon McDonald, Dejan Jakovic, and Robbie Russell in front of him. In the midfield, Perry Kitchen will occupy the space behind Chris Pontius, Branko Boskovic, and Andy Najar. United's dynamic duo Hamdi Salihi and Dwayne De Rosario will start up top.
Prediction: SKC wins 3-1. You'll see me being overly optimistic several times throughout the year. Not tonight though. I'm worried that our defense still needs time to gel, and that Kei Kamara, C.J. Sapong, Teal Bunbury, Graham Zusi, and Bobby Convey are the wrong guys to face when you're trying to gel.
What are you drinking? Not drinking it at this exact moment, but I had a Lost Rhino Woody Stout last night at Elephant & Castle in D.C. Darker than I normally like, but freakin excellent. The bourbon taste is evident, yet its still very smooth and drinkable.
